Comprehensive Care for Your Surgical Journey
Because our doctors understand that a well-informed patient has a better surgical experience, they dedicate significant time to effective communication. Below, we focus on key details for the pre-surgical and post-surgical period.
To Schedule a Consultation:
Call our office at 817-862-7151, and our friendly staff will be happy to schedule your consultation, or you can use our website to book an appointment online. We check the website each morning for new appointments.
Before Your First Appointment:
Our doctors will carefully review your medical and surgical history during your initial consultation. Prior to your visit, you will receive an email with a link to our secure patient portal, allowing you to complete your medical history online from home. If you prefer, you can complete this information at our office. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.
Surgical Costs and Payment Options:
After your consultation, our office manager will provide a detailed quote for your procedure, which includes anesthesia, facility fees, and any necessary implants. This transparent pricing ensures there are no hidden fees. Learn more about our financing options here.
Preparation
The Pre-Surgical Work-Up:
Safety is our top priority. All patients will need basic lab work within 30 days of surgery, which can be completed at your primary care office, a lab, or hospital. Please fax results to 817-862-7151. Additional tests, such as a mammogram or EKG, may be required depending on your medical history.
Pre-Surgical Office Visit:
If you have further questions or need another visit before surgery, our doctors will review your lab results, discuss your operative plan, and go over your pre-operative instructions and prescriptions. Your first follow-up appointment will also be arranged at this time.
Common Postoperative Medications:
Post-surgery recovery may require medications such as antibiotics (Augmentin or Keflex), anti-nausea meds (Zofran or Phenergan), stool softeners (Colace), and pain relievers (Percocet or Vicodin).
Final Thoughts:
- Do not eat after midnight the night before surgery.
- If you smoke, quit now to improve incision healing.
- Regular movement post-surgery helps prevent blood clots.
- Call our office with any further questions.
Coming from Out of Town:
For patients traveling from other areas, we offer consultation options via Skype or traditional office visits. Our office is conveniently located 20 minutes from DFW Airport, with many hotel options nearby. For assistance with travel and accommodation, call us at 817-862-7151, and we will help with the details.
